Catching up with Maria<\/h2>\n

It has been a while since we last posted some news on Maria and she has been having a busy period.<\/p>\n

After returning home in December, Maria found the contrast in weather quite a change, leaving London with the temperatures hovering around freezing while soaring into the mid thirties in S\u00e3o Paulo!<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t away that long but it is an incredible difference,\u201d she said. \u201cSuddenly I was playing outside in the heat in shorts after being indoors with several layers on!<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, it is summer in Brazil so you have to get used to it being hot, and it has been unbelievably hot for months now.\u201d<\/p>\n

She had plenty to catch up on on her return, including setting up several meetings and helping out with some clinics at her home club, Sociedade Harmonia T\u00eanis.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was busy but fun. I took Panettoni to the junior academy clinic to give it a festive feel and they loved it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Honoured by Moet et Chandon and Trousseau<\/h2>\n

Maria also received another accolade of recognition, this time from Moet et Chandon, who presented her with a Jeroboam of champagne at the Trousseau flagship store in S\u00e3o Paulo in celebration of fifty years since her last Wimbledon singles title in 1964.<\/p>\n
