{"id":2150,"date":"2016-02-29T15:26:12","date_gmt":"2016-02-29T15:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/indextemp.php\/?p=2150"},"modified":"2016-02-29T15:32:44","modified_gmt":"2016-02-29T15:32:44","slug":"pirelli-ambassador","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/indextemp.php\/pirelli-ambassador\/","title":{"rendered":"A Fine Pirelli Ambassador"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maria Esther Bueno has teamed up with Pirelli as their brand ambassador and the company recently released a short promotional film\u00a0that was aired during the Rio Open.<\/p>\n<p>It brought the crowd to their feet cheering and waving several times during the tournament when it was aired and, during the semi finals, Maria Esther was in the commentary box to witness it.<\/p>\n<p>She received a five-minute standing ovation and eventually was told by her SporTV Producer to stand up and acknowledge the appreciation as Rafael Nadal and Pablo Cuevas sat in their chairs on the changeover, somewhat bemused by the adoration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was an incredible experience for me,&#8221; Maria Esther said. &#8220;It brought goose flesh to my arms and tears to my eyes to be the focus of such warmth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>With the company&#8217;s\u00a0kind permission, here is the Pirelli Ambassador video:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YgHAJG3D-HU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The film reflects the famous\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pirellicalendar.pirelli.com\/en\/the-cal-2016\/home\">2016 Pirelli calendar<\/a>\u00a0shot by the renowned American photographer Annie Leibovitz, who departed from a tradition established over 50 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The distinguished women she photographed represent how much things have changed in the half century since the calendar first appeared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel very privileged that Pirelli wanted to promote me in a smilar light in the video,&#8221; added Maria Esther.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Serena Williams is one of those incredible women featured in the calendar\u00a0in\u00a0recognition that she is probably the greatest female athlete of all time who changed the face of our sport.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Unquestionably, Maria Esther did much the same thing when she came onto the tennis scene in 1958 to become number one in the world and lay the foundations for what has now become the women&#8217;s tour.<\/p>\n<p>Serena\u00a0is the only tennis player in the calendar and she is just one of the 12 remarkable women featured.<\/p>\n<p>The others are Yoko Ono, Kathleen Kennedy, Patti Smith, Mellody Hobson, Yao Chen, Fran Lebowitz, Amy Schumer, Agnes Gunn and Sadie Rain Hope-Gunn, Shirin Neshat, Tavi Gevinson and Natalia Vodianova.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They all look really amazing!\u201d concludes Maria Esther, who posed against a similar\u00a0backdrop\u00a0for her video.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/indextemp.php\/ultimate-ambassador-rio-olympics\/snip20160201_1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1994\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1994 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-1019x1024.png\" alt=\"Snip20160201_1\" width=\"560\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-1019x1024.png 1019w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-150x150.png 150w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-298x300.png 298w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-768x772.png 768w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-500x503.png 500w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-560x563.png 560w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-260x261.png 260w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1-160x161.png 160w, http:\/\/www.mariabueno.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Snip20160201_1.png 1118w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maria Esther Bueno has teamed up with Pirelli as their brand ambassador and the company recently released a short promotional film\u00a0that was aired during the Rio Open.
